The Opportunity:
We are seeking a high-caliber Mechanic Foreman in the Port Elizabeth facility, overseeing the maintenance and repairs to ensure maximum uptime and operational excellence.Requirements & Competencies:
• Must be a south African citizen, already living in PE with a clear criminal record.
• Qualifications: Gr12 / Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a Red Seal Trade Test a advance.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-trade experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Foreman capacity.
• Licensing: Valid Code 8 Driver’s License is essential.
• Technical Knowledge
• Attributes: A “firm but fair” leadership style, high attention to detail, and a commitment to workshop safety .
• Must know how to do diagnostics with the relevant equipment.Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
1 Lead a team of mechanics and assistants.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Oversee all major and minor repairs, ensuring work meets strict safety and quality standards.
• Manage the workshop schedule to ensure the minimal downtime.2. Maintenance
• Implement and manage a rigorous Preventative Maintenance.
• Conduct final inspections and “sign-offs” on all repaired.3. Operational Administration
• Manage workshop inventory, spare parts procurement, and supplier relationships.
• Maintain accurate service records and job cards.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through efficient resource allocation and waste reduction.Working Conditions & Benefits
