  JOB DESCRIPTION:  

  To carry out general maintenance and repair work to ensure buildings, facilities, and equipment are maintained in a safe, functional, and presentable condition.

  Key Responsibilities:

  * Perform general plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing taps, unblocking drains, and repairing toilets.

  * Carry out carpentry work, including repairing doors, cupboards, shelves, locks, and wooden fixtures.

  * Prepare surfaces and undertake painting of walls, ceilings, doors, and other building areas.

  * Clean, repair, and replace gutters and downpipes as required.

  * Perform general building maintenance, including minor masonry, tiling, and patch repairs.

  * Install, repair, and replace fixtures and fittings.

  * Inspect facilities and identify maintenance issues requiring attention.

  * Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

  * Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

  * Comply with health and safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  * Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.

  * Keep work areas clean and tidy after completing tasks.

  * Report any major defects or repairs requiring specialist contractors to management.

   

• Job Requirements

  Minimum Requirements:

  * Proven experience as a handyman or in general maintenance.

  * Practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.

  * Ability to use hand and power tools safely.

  * Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  * Valid driver’s licence (preferred, if travel between sites is required)

Contract period: Contract

Compensation: R30,23 per hour
