  Job Responsibilities:

  Ensure product complies to export quality standards:

  • Extensive understanding of the portfolio of fruit quality

  • Knowledge of PPECB export standards

  • Implement, measure, and maintain quality standards of both PPECB and various exporters

  • Ethepon Testing

   

  Monitoring and communicating all fruit quality standards including but not limited to:

  • Incoming quality

  • Internal quality

  • Final quality

  • De-greening – Overview of verification process incoming batches.

   

  Conducting quality inspections and commutate results to farm management:

  • Incoming cull

  • Line inspection

  • Packhouse culling

  • Final carton inspection

  • Packhouse Walkabouts – Food Safety, Quality Processes and Compliance

  • Dwell Times – Off-Loading, Crates and Final Pallets

  • Labelling standards of cartons and pallets

  • Review Pack Plan vs Production

  • Half Pallet Management

   

   QC report monitoring:

  • Written reports and feedback to value chain including farm, packhouse and exporter where necessary

  • Compile quality reports: receive, analyse and summarise quality control information

  • Record keeping of relevant documentation

  • Capturing information, communicate and follow up on outcomes.

   

   Carton inspection:

  • Quality of cartons

  • Carton delivery sign-off

  • Ensure Palletising standards are kept

  • Carton waste record sign-off

  • Transport loading of packed pallets checks

• Job Requirements

  Requirements:

  Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience Pack house quality experience.

  Languages: English & Afrikaans

  Minimum – Grade 12

  Valid RSA driver’s license Own Transport

  Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, Email

  Strong communication skills

  Self-driven and able to work in a team

  Attention to detail and able to follow up and give feedback
